A tip, a fact, and a laugh

It's a very busy here, getting ready for the big launch, but I thought I'd take a minute to post something 'friday-appropriate'. So on the lighter side of life, here is a tip, a fact, and a laugh.

Tip: You can use google to search for a term on any specific website. For example, I love to cook, so let’s say I wanted to search for the word ‘endive’ on the website allrecipes.com. I could go to www.google.com and enter this in search bar site:allrecipes.com endive.
And that tells google to search for the word ‘endive’, but only on the site ‘allrecipes.com’. This works with any site, but is especially helpful for websites that don't have their own search feature.

Fact: Yahoo! officially stands for Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle

Laugh: A doctor shared this video, and we think it’s very funny.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Father's Day

CWS.jpg

I hope all you fathers had a great Father's Day. I thought I'd write from beautiful Omaha, Nebraska where I have been fortunate enough to spend the past several days taking in the first round of the College World Series. While I planned the trip some time ago, it also turned out to be a good break before iMedExchange officially goes live next week. The team is working hard this week in preparation for the unveiling.

As for the CWS...what a terrific event! This was my second time in attendance and the people of Omaha are amazing hosts. Everyone in the town seems to be involved or heavily interested in the event, which is rare for any sporting event and its host town. It's also impossible not to notice how nice the people in Omaha are....as an example, a woman slowed her car down to let us know we didn't need to feed the meter on Saturday evening. Who stops to save you a few quarters? People in Omaha do.

4 great CWS games have already been played with Fresno State coming out the biggest surprise. They entered the tournament the lowest seed to ever make the tournament and they demolished Rice 17-5. Stanford, Miami and North Carolina finished out the winner's bracket. Games resume today at Rosenblatt Stadium, in its final few years until Omaha erects a new stadium near Qwest Center downtown.

Day 1

imedexchange%20card.jpg
As CEO of iMedExchange, I'd like to welcome you on behalf of the entire iMedExchange team located in Seattle, Washington and Palo Alto, California.

Moments ago, we released our first public version of iMedExchange and began to invite the physician community at large to join.

iMedExchange began almost two years ago with a few people in a small warehouse style office, dreaming about how the web might be used to enhance the professional and personal lives of physicians. Our founding team has extensive backgrounds developing technology solutions for physicians...and out of that experience we developed a deep passion for the well-being of physicians.

We experimented with several different ideas early on, but, after talking with hundreds of physicians with varied specialties, practice types and sizes, we landed on the ambitious goal of creating an online resource...a virtual physicians lounge, unlike anything that has been done to date...in any industry. We looked long and hard at leading web models like Facebook, Amazon.com, CraigsList and LinkedIn and developed a hybrid platform that leverages best of breed concepts and features, but all developed uniquely for physicians.

We have just opened the book to Chapter 1 of what will become a 50 chapter book. With the assistance of our physician advisor network, we have created a product road-map which includes a host of very valuable tools that will be part of the iMedExchange platform over time. Also realize that we absolutely view this as your site...we are just facilitators. We want to hear about what you'd lilke to see. We'll listen carefully, prioritize and build accordingly. Watch for regular monthly changes and enhancements to the site.
